FAQs | Cleveland Yoga Concord

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a system of physical and mental practices that originated more than 6,000 years ago. Its purpose is to connect your mind, body and spirit. Yoga reduces stress and the fatigue we carry in our bodies.

I am new. Can I buy the "New Student 30 Days of Unlimited Yoga for $45" offer online?

YES!  The “New Student 30 Days for $45” option is available for purchase on our pricing page.

Do Cleveland Yoga Concord passes and memberships apply at other Cleveland Yoga locations?

Cleveland Yoga Concord class passes and memberships are only applicable at the Concord location. If you would like to attend classes at other Cleveland Yoga Studios, you can upgraded to a Freedom Pass that is valid at all locations, or purchase individual classes at the other studio.  We would be happy to help you do this, just let us know.

What classes are best suited for me, as a yoga newbie?

Start with our Slow Flow or Power Yoga Basics classes, or give our Beginner’s Workshops a try. In no time, you will become familiar with the poses and you will soon be comfortable in any class on our schedule.

Am I too inflexible for yoga?

That’s like being too dirty for a bath! Practice regularly and you will quickly gain flexibility and strength. All of our classes engage and stretch your muscles, improving your balance, focus, power and range of motion.

What do I wear?

Wear comfortable exercise pants, leggings or shorts made of breathable fabric. A form-fitting top made of a supple fabric will make your practice more comfortable. Check out the Breathe Boutique for some of our favorite clothing for both men and women. Bare feet only in the studio, please.

Do I need a mat?

Yes. You will need a yoga sticky mat. If you do not own one, you can purchase one in our boutique.  You’ll also   want to bring a towel (it gets sweaty) and a filled water bottle.

Can I come to any class on the schedule?

Yes, but our classes fill up. Ensure you get a spot in your favorite class by using our online advance registration.

How do I sign up?

Passes can be purchased at the studio or online on our pricing page.  Need help?  Let us know.  We’re happy to assist you.

What is the meaning of OM and why do we OM during class?

OM is an ancient mantra, a primordial vibration (definition: prīˈmôrdēəl – existing at or from the beginning of time). We start and end many of our classes by chanting three OMs.  One to the past, one to the present, and one to the future, to create harmony and unity within the class.

What is the meaning of Namaste?

Our classes always end with the teacher and students reciting the word Namaste. Simply said, Namaste means: “The Light in Me Honors The Light in You.” Reciting Namaste this together offers a place of connection.
