COVID-19 Studio Update: Caring for Ourselves and Our Communities

We at Cleveland Yoga Concord are staying on top of all precautions, recommendations and news related to COVID-19. We will keep you up to date on everything we do as a business to keep our studios clean and our community healthy and safe.

Since sending out our initial email on the topic, we’ve made further adjustments and actions to ensure we are minimizing the potential of spreading this virus. Please review the procedures we already implemented last week. Below are our developments.

Facts vs. Fear: Here is a helpful article published by the New York Times with regards to wellness studios and gyms. Every day, we learn something new about the virus, and based on the studies I have been following, it is manageable as long as EVERYONE follows the suggested guidelines.

The immune system can be compromised by your state of mind. Manage your stress and stay intuitive in your body and actions. We know that the virus is a real threat, but responding with fear or anxiety will not do us good. Remember, yoga is a stress-buster. We need our practice now more than ever! However:

  • DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO IF YOU ARE COUGHING, SNEEZING or generally do not feel well.
  • If you have traveled by air or if you have been in contact with anyone who is sick or unwell or who has traveled abroad in the past week, we request that you practice from home for at least 5-10 days as prevention measures for our teachers, staff and community. Use one of our SoundCloud podcasts or take a class online with the NEOU App.
  • For example, this morning we were contacted by one of our long-time students who recently returned from a trip abroad. Even though this student is feeling well and eager to return to their practice, the student will self-quarantine for 14 days as a courtesy to others and the community. We are thankful for this effort and hope all will take note and inspiration of this example.
  • We trust that you will make the higher call so that we ALL feel safe.
  • Bring your own props (mats, blocks, straps, etc.).
  • Important to note: During this time, any lost and found items will be disposed of immediately. Please remember to take ALL of your belongings with you.
  • Be diligent about your hygiene and level up your self care.
  • Support others in conversation, so not to spread fear and anxiety
  • Please remember that sweat and humidity do not carry the virus.
  • Practice hygienically and boost your own immune system by drinking water, eating well, meditating, and get plenty of sleep.
